About Us RockMeadow Equestrian Center has been in business since 1986, and is a Premiere Boarding, Training and Instructional Facility. Located on 38 park like acres on the Pine Lake Plateau in Sammamish, Wa., RockMeadow is easily accessible via I-90, and is within 30 minutes of downtown Seattle. RockMeadow is owned and managed by Deborah Ritchie. In her 35 years as a horsewoman, she has trained with the best Hunter/Jumper professionals in our area including, Brad Laird, John Turner, Bob Woodington and Sandy Skafgaard. To compliment her training she also studied Dressage with Nancy Benton. Deborah has taught hundreds of riders over the last 20 years. Several of them have gone on to actively compete with "A" circuit training barns and some are now professional trainers themselves. She manages the facility overseeing it's daily operations, and organizes horse shows, clinics and special events. Historical Facts: Originally part of a 100 acre plot homesteaded in 1864 by Peter Prilliman, the farm was sold in 1907 to Finnish emmigrants, Edward and Hilma Erickson. They cleared the land by hand using horse teams and established one of the richest chicken farms in Washington known as " The Erickson Farm". They also operated a Dairy and Cattle Ranch. The Farm was sold in 1965 and leased to one of the Erickson sons for about 10 years. In 1975, Bill Henry puchased the property and renamed it, Shiloh Horse Farm. In 1986 the property was purchased by Deborah Ritchie and she remains custodian of the property today.
