We've added a new learning resource for our Riding School Customers. Simply go to our website and visit the RockMeadow Online Store. By clicking on the link on our store page, students and parents will be directed to an online source with a recommended list of reading materials. We'll be updating the reading list frequently. I hope our students will take advantage of enjoying books their instructors recommend. Really looking forward to our Holiday Break Day Camp which starts on Monday, December 20th and runs through Wednesday December 23rd. We've got about 20 eager students ready to learn about horse care as well as riding. The RockMeadow horses and teachers are ready to go!

Once again,Thumbs Up Farmheld the best Holiday Party! I just wanted to say thank you to John, Jack, Keri and Quinn for hosting a wonderful party. It was so much fun to see all the people there. Most of the folks at the party were people I see most every day here at the barn. BUT, there were also a number of good friends there who don't board their horses at RockMeadow, but either ride with Thumbs Up or have just remained good friends over the years. I feel so blessed to work with such good people, both from the trainers and professionals side to the fantastic customers. |

I'm working on our 2011 calendar, and wanted to ask everyone what your thoughts are regarding Clinics and Schooling Show classes. I'm thinking of offering a "mini-show" for our youngest competitors that would include walk only classes, and walk-trot classes. However, the "mini-show" would be a 1/2 day event, probably a Saturday or Sunday afternoon. The Mini's would be for ages 5 - 10. Any thoughts or comments? I'd like to know what types of classes you'd really like to see at our monthly schooling shows. |

During our recent Susan Hutchison Clinic, the weekend of November 27th and 28th, some of my riding students, attending as auditors, took some notes. I've really enjoyed reading these notes, and was pretty thrilled at how closely everyone paid attention and really did some good learning. Here are the notes from the clinic, as recorded by some of RockMeadow Riding Schools Students! - Find your line, and ride your line.
- You can do it, I know you can!
- Steer horse well enough that horse knows where we want it to jump!

Blog, blog, blog.... Not really a term I can relate to! So, as of tonite, I've decided to ditch "blog" and go with News and Views. Perhaps a little mundane for some, but geez, I figure perhaps a bit more descriptive. Rachel and I will be hosting and instructing our first December Holiday Break Day Camp, December 20-21-22 of next week. There are already 18 campers signed up, so it will be a busy and fun week just before we all take a short Holiday Break. We are planning on having many of these "mini" day camps in the months ahead. |
