Halloween Horse Show!!!

HI Everyone!

We are very excited to hold our 3rd annual Halloween Horse Show on Sunday, October 30th.  The start time is 9:00AM, and we are thrilled that Jay Arend will be our judge.

This year's competition will include classes for all levels and ages of riders, beginning with a Walk-Trot Division and working our way up through 18" crossrails, 2' Hunters, 2'3" Hunters, 2'6 Hunters and 3'0 Hunters.

Our most popular classes are the costume classes, and we're really looking forward to seeing what creative ideas everybody comes up with!

Thank You Thumbs Up!

Once again,Thumbs Up Farmheld the best Holiday Party!
I just wanted to say thank you to John, Jack, Keri and Quinn for hosting a wonderful party.

It was so much fun to see all the people there.  Most of the folks at the party were people I see most every day here at the barn. BUT, there were also a number of good friends there who don't board their horses at RockMeadow, but either ride with Thumbs Up or have just remained good friends over the years.  I feel so blessed to work with such good people, both from the trainers and professionals side to the fantastic customers.

Thoughts from the Susie Hutchison Clinic

During our recent Susan Hutchison Clinic, the weekend of November 27th and 28th, some of my riding students, attending as auditors, took some notes.

I've really enjoyed reading these notes, and was pretty thrilled at how closely everyone paid attention and really did some good learning.  Here are the notes from the clinic, as recorded by some of  RockMeadow Riding Schools Students!

  • Find your line, and ride your line.

  • You can do it, I know you can!

  • Steer horse well enough that horse knows where we want it to jump!

News and Views

Blog, blog, blog.... Not really a term I can relate to!  So, as of tonite, I've decided to ditch "blog" and go with News and Views.
Perhaps a little mundane for some, but geez, I figure perhaps a bit more descriptive.

Rachel and I will be hosting and instructing our first December Holiday Break Day Camp, December 20-21-22 of next week.  There are already 18 campers signed up, so it will be a busy and fun week just before we all take a short Holiday Break.

We are planning on having many of these "mini" day camps in the months ahead.

Happy Holidays Everyone!

After many years of absence, RockMeadow held a Holiday party this past Saturday night, December 11th.  What a great turnout! The weather was horrible with an unbelievable amount of rain, but we all stayed cozy in the arena lounge.  Everyone brought amazing potluck dishes and the food was fantastic.

The White Elephant gift exchange was so much fun.  Everyone started out being pretty polite, but as more gifts were opened the "stealing" and "swapping" of gifts provided some pretty humorous moments.
